A gaunt man lies awake in a painted bedroom, the patterned wallpaper, fringed lampshade and dotted eiderdown all airbrushed in warm ochres, while ranks of iced buns advance on him out of a dark red void. His worry then arrives as a thought cloud that fills the screen, and inside the soft painted cumulus sits a precise technical diagram, a cross-section of a wheat grain with four leader lines, so a schoolroom illustration and a dream occupy one frame. Morning is handled as pure graphics: cereal falls from the pack in a long ribbon of flakes and the word LESEMUROJA is already lettered into the bottom of the bowl as they land. The selling is done by a sung verse, a rhyme about modern food leaving the stomach nothing to do, with the refrain "Kuitua, kuitua mulla anna" [Give me fibre, give me fibre]. The pack only ever appears drawn, on the breakfast table beside the bowl, and the film ends on the red Kellogg's script over a rising sun as a pair of striped pyjama legs strides out of frame.
