Trip to Eternity / Matka ikuisuuteen

1973 · Short film · 16mm · 2 minutes

A film by Marjut and Sakari Rimminen

An actor is prepared for the final shot in this pastiche of filmmaking. A macabre comedy sketch by sister and brother.

In Trip to Eternity, “Rimminen & Rimminen” gets the credit for every job. It is a joke between sister and brother. Sakari wrote the script, with all its black humour, and Marjut brought it to life in animation. She liked her brother’s black humour too, and had found inspiration of her own in the films she saw at the Mamaia festival in 1972.

It was a joke to have Rimminen & Rimminen in all the credits.

Still from Trip to Eternity, a thin balding man drawn in red ink stands with his arms folded across a cross-hatched chest in the middle of an empty white field, a small seated figure at the far left and a figure holding a clapperboard at the right edge
