Enstex
Reima / Ervaco
Drawn animation working through a rhyming list of claims about a child's snowsuit, and it opens with the rudest of them: a boy in striped tights presses the seat of his trousers against a spinning grindstone and sparks fly off his backside while another child laughs. Two kinds of drawing share the same frames, flat cel colour for the children and soft graphite for the hardware, so the grindstone and its treadle frame, and later a washing machine with the load churning behind the glass, are rendered in pencil tone against figures with no tone at all. The wind claim is a child leaning into long ruled curves that sweep across the paper; the waterproof claim is a jump over a puddle that lands the boy in the middle of the word "reima", arms and legs out, standing in for the missing m. A pocket calculator runs figures up behind the price claim. It ends on two type cards, white rounded letters with a raised edge on red reading "reima enstex", then the same lockup on yellow with "edullista" [good value] added beneath in an outline face.
What is said: Ensteks on kestävä. Toiseks, ensteks on hurjan helppo pestävä. Kolmanneks, ensteks on hurjan tuulen estävä. Ensteks ei päästä vettä läpi liivistä, sillä ensteks on ihan vettä hylkivän tiivistä. Siksi toiseks näet joka päivä, miten ensteks edullisempaa on Reiman ensteks.
