Treo, effervescent tablet

It opens on something no medicine advertisement would normally reach for, a piece of linen embroidered in script with a flower either side, reading "Noudata terveitä elämäntapoja, niin tarvitset harvemmin särkylääkettä" (follow healthy habits and you will need painkillers less often), so the sensible warning arrives as a hand-stitched sampler photographed on a rostrum. From there it moves into soft graphite drawing worked against a deep red ground, so tonal and so carefully rendered that the young woman with the long fair hair could pass for a photograph until the pencil grain in her fringe gives it away. She puts a tablet to her mouth with her eyes closed, then stands full length in a dark leotard and drinks, and the drawing turns colder and more product-facing as it goes: a TREO tube tipping over with tablets rolling out, then a pair of hands holding up a glass in which a tablet has broken into a mass of fine bubbles, every one of them drawn by hand. That is a strange amount of labour to spend on a fizzing glass, and it is also the only way to make dissolving into something you can watch. It ends on the TREO logotype, its letters set in a row of white discs the same shape as the tablets, with "Maahantuoja / Oy Leo-Fennica Ab" beneath.
