Marjut was fascinated by what the Amiga could do on its own terms. She had seen demonstrations of Deluxe Paint, knew that Andy Warhol had made pictures on the Amiga, and loved the bright, bold colour it gave her. Most of all she was taken with how it animated: anim-brushes, short loops of animation carried on the end of the mouse pointer and laid down as she drew, and fills that flooded an area with colour in an instant.

The film was animated by hand, frame by frame, on an Amiga 4000 computer with Deluxe Paint IV. The photographs were brought into Deluxe Paint with a Vidi Amiga 12 RT digitiser and a Sony Hi-8 Handycam. It used 6-bit colour, 64 colours on screen at once, and the dithering of the digitised photographs added to its raw look, intensely digital for the time. The film was transferred to video by playing it back from the Amiga’s RGB video port through a genlock into a Beta SP video system at Automatic TV in Soho.
