UPO Tehokarhu was the first of a series of commercials made between 1988 and 1993. They all used the voices of Heikki Kinnunen and Leo Lastumäki, a popular comedy duo, for an entertaining soundtrack. The two bears were animated on cel and combined with a photograph of the appliances and a painted background on the rostrum camera. One of the commercials was combined with live action.

Two white washing machines on blue, each with a drawn cartoon face; a red caption gives their loads. A drawn black paw presses a button on the machine’s real control panel, seen close up. The same paw reaches for the programme dial; the panel reads PESUKARHU 9000 A. Both machines laugh as drawn whirls spin on their fronts, spin speeds captioned below. The two drums keep turning as scribbled spirals, the faces hidden behind them. The machines grin and gesture with drawn paws over the same red caption.

Heard in the film: "Ja siis rapsutus loppu nyt, mikäli se on meistä kiinni. On seitsemän huuhtelun allergiaohjelma. Ja puolen tunnin pikaohjelma semmoista pikkupyykkiä varten. Oho, kaverilta hurahti yhdeksänsadan kierroksen linko päälle. Pyörii vallan penteleesti. Mutta ei tassut tärise. UPO on viiskytvee."
